Furtado has served on numerous boards of trustees in Knoxville, Tennessee. Currently, she serves on the boards of the Cleveland International Film Festival and Hillel at ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½. Furtado is married to ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½â€™s 13^th President, Todd Diacon, and the couple have a son.

Todd Diacon became ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½'s 13th president in July 2019. His commitment to college affordability and access has resulted in nationally recognized initiatives to boost student retention, graduation rates and academic achievement.
